Ali was born in Kenya, and growing up, his parents always wanted him to be a doctor. As a young kid, he always wanted to be an engineer, tinkering with transistor radios and anything else he could get his hands on that had a battery or was plugged in. So, nobody was surprised that he became an Electrical Engineer at the University of Leeds in the UK. His journey has gone from Kenya to the UK to the USA– working as an engineer, restaurateur, and operations guru amongst others. Learning and growing are his aims in life. His family, volunteering, and reading are his passions.
